Session Description
What do souls have to do with poverty? The human soul is the combination of our heart, mind, body and relationships. This collaborative workshop will explore the biblical teaching concerning the human soul, drawing out lessons for our own lives and for people living in poverty. We will explore similarities and differences between secular and Christian approaches to development.

Paul Wilson is University Distinguished Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Arizona. His teaching and research  programs focus on agribusiness economics and management, irrigated agriculture, project and program assessment, and international agricultural development. Paul served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic and worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C., and Nicaragua. Paul and his wife, Ellen, have served Food for the Hungry as Advocates for five years.
